Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS trust has chosen Patients Know Best (PKB) to deliver is digital platform to residents within Yorkshire and Humber.
The trust, which operates two main hospitals (Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital) will be using PKB to empower patients to self-manage their care and to create cash savings for the trust.
Initially, over 200,000 patients of the 600,000 residents who receive care and treatment at the trust will digitally access their health records. This will place more emphasis on self-management whilst aiming to improve efficiencies and releasing cash savings for the Trust.
Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, CEO and founder of Patients Know Best said: “This is good news for patients and the health economy within Yorkshire and Humber. Unlike other hospital or GP portals, which tie patients to a single institution, patients using PKB will benefit from a borderless patient portal. It means patients can access their health record from anywhere in the world and share it with any institution, professional or carer wherever they are. And the trust can achieve tangible cash savings. It’s a win-win situation!”
A number of clinical specialities have been identified to ‘go live’ from April 2019 at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, with a trust-wide roll-out expected to follow shortly after.
