The Royal Surrey Hospital, Bournemouth Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital are among the latest in a growing number providing free hospital wifi to patients, visitors and staff
One in two patients said that hospital wifi improved their stay, and 46% of visitors stated that they have a higher opinion of hospitals with free wifi provision.
Provided by Hospedia, in conjunction with The Cloud, over 1,000 user devices each day are connected across these 3 hospitals and within the first 3 months, nearly 19 million minutes of access has been provided to patients, visitors and staff.
The Hospedia hospital wifi service provides a personalised landing page for each hospital, links to hospital information and opportunities to complete the friends and family test.
Due to a partnership with The Cloud users of the service can quickly and easily access the thousands of Cloud wi-fi hotspots throughout the UK once they leave hospital.
Jenny Faulkner, deputy director of nursing and patient experience at The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said: “We are really pleased with the new hospital wifi service at the Royal Surrey.
“Patients and visitors had been asking for wifi for some time and it is great to now be able to provide it.
“Staff have said that it’s quick to go online and that the service is both good and easy to use.
“Feedback from patients has also been really positive and it’s playing a key part in helping us to deliver an excellent experience when people are with us for treatment.”
